The Research Process Framed | Unframed

Getting Started

Working through the research process will teach you several skills, from choosing a suitable subject and narrowing it to a topic you can explore thoroughly, to using a library to locate sources, sift through material, and find what will best suit your purpose. You'll also learn how to interpret, evaluate, and condense what you read, and present your findings clearly and logically. But how exactly does one go about starting a research project?

Objectives

1   Set up a schedule with due dates to meet your paper's deadline
2   Decide on a subject or general area of interest for your research project, and
3   Narrow your subject to a more specific topic
4   Identify and determine the types of information needed for your research
